JSPF demands arrest of Prothom Alo Editor in Ctg

CHITTAGONG: Jatiya Sangbadpatra Pathok Forum (JSPF) on Friday demanded arrest of daily Prothom Alo Editor Matiur Rahman for his alleged involvement in August 21 grenade attack.

The demand came from a human chain demo organized by the forum’s Ctg unit in front of the Press Club here at around 11am.

Identifying Matiur Rahman as the “patron” of militant leader Maulana Tajuddin, the speakers of the demo also demanded immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of the editor.

Eminent personalities who joined the human chain said Matiur Rahman has a “close relations” with “terrorist” Tajuddin so he should be interrogated.

Among others, Monir Chowdhury, Amzad Hossain and Sajjadul Alam spoke at the demo. Mohammad Jahirul Haque Mintu, president of the central committee of the forum, presided over the programme.
